That was the last one. I am willing to discuss almost anything, but not in this manner.
Btw, you're not going to keep any job if you open your arguments in RL like that. Not any worthwhile jobs anyway.

Lies, some people been QQ'ing about it here and in other threads so I could aswell comment on it too no? Just funny how people use cheap irony or insults when they have nothing more to say to prove their point.
And bows shuld effect BHA, but the arc is still fugly same for damage so I'd rather kill stuff with R/P or take and entirely diff ranger build like IA, BA, Barrage, R/D, Glass arrows to name a few and pwn stuff with big damages.

How about "I have a Ranger and not a Paragon"
When I HM with is run EDA or BHA mostly and [Distracting Shot][Savage Shot][Volley][Pain Inverter][You Move like a Dwarf][Broad Head Arrow][+1skill][+1Skill] is a fairly standard bar I use for BHA. I can shutdown 2-3 casters without problem but when I come against a group requiring little shutdown my only damage really comes from an a hero cast splinter onto my Volley.
If i run a R/P Stunning build then even when I dont need to daze then I still have a pretty hefty DPS to add to the party so that i don't feel like i'm thumb twiddling
BHA is a fantastic build (not sure about Amy's BHA/NRA/Pet/Conjure/Epidemic version though) but there are times I find when Good Damage + Occasional Daze > Daze. BHA will probably be the first choice daze build for me but i can see the benefits of the R/P build and will also use it regularly.
As for why would i run R/P builds in general , I do it because most of the time i'm playing party support and sometimes I just like to make stuff blow up and/or use my pet. R/P can have great DPS and at the same time have great synergy with pets so its a win/win for me

A thousand bends? lol yeah right, name one.
Lets keep this simple then shall we, don't want to confuse you with all my bends lol.
You say the bow type matters when using BHA, I say it does not matter. You are wrong, I am right.
Simple and straight enough for you?

I'd run D-Shot still. When I have a skill slot, a weapon slot and a secondary open, I bring D-Shot. ^__________________^
Oh, and Amy, post the frigging build already. You're not a snowflake and you might as well to prevent some walls of text.

I've slowly been vanquishing Vabbi with my ranger and the heroes and hench. Last Vanquish was Ahadashim, with all the darn Djinn. I've set myself a rule, just for grins...no PvE-only skills. So my most recent bar, which I found useful:
Apply poison (great, except for non-fleshy critters. Should've subbed this out. Any good prep will do here, I think.)
Sundering Weapon. Rit skill. Causes cracked armor.
Broad Head arrow.
Savage Shot.
Distracting shot.
Body shot. Give good energy management, and a reasonably fast recharge.
A rez: usually Flesh of My Flesh or Death Pact Sig.
Optional slot for whatever.
I combined this with one of the heores--often Zhed--bringing Epidemic, and a mesmer. In the Hidden City, Gwen was a caster-hater; in other places she's anti-melee. What I found was that bringing epidemic after the cracked armor was applied served to pile on the damage.
As much as I love rangers and the interrupts, it's sometimes sad to not see the big numbers go up...but staying alive is satisfying, and the ability of BHA to slow down damage from the baddies is too vital to leave at home.

P/R can also get the pet. 12 Beast Mastery, 10+1+1 Spear instead of 12 Spear, 10+1+1 Best. No difference there.
And I'd say Leadership has more to offer then Expertise ... better e-management as well as great party-wide skills.
Thumpers are better with Rangers because Warriors have no mana so they can't play it. Paragons on the other hand do have unlimited mana (with some spammable adrenalin based shout). But I have to admit: It's only a theory. Never tried it on my Paragon since imho there are way more effective things to do with the Para (but I see no reason why it shouldn't work).
But that's kind of my point: Why should I run a build on my Ranger that I could run better on my Paragon but that I don't even think about using on my Paragon because it is bad there. The Ranger sure isn't an inferior class, Rangers don't have to settle with bad Paragon builds for damage ...

I agree with the few of you who say that why should a ranger do something that another class can do alot better. Although the ranger does have upsides I believe that a Paragon is still far superior with spearbuilds, as thats what they were designed to do.

Paragons were actually designed to deal a decent amount of damage and support, and it deserved a series of nerfs because they were so stupid powerful. W/P's make better Spearturrets though.

This why r/p bring along a pet balancing the damage it can deal + having a better enrgy management still.

The problem with running it on a paragon is that they cant afford it, unless drastically changing the build. Nothing against stunning on a paragon, but paragon builds work better when they are running party buffs/support with 1-2 spear attacks. A bar full focused upon damage on a paragon isnt bad, but it isnt fulfilling the benefits available to the gon. Never Rampage Alone is an integral part of the R/P's build, and unfortunately would consume almost all of a paragons energy just to maintain it. Hence it is better run on a ranger.
However, a variation would be good.
@ Tyla, D-Shot is good, I staple it to all my bow bars. However, for the R/P build I find it to take a slot that is better fulfilled. It would either replace deepwound, or energy management. (Other 6 slots are pve skill, stunning and charm+comfort.) + weapon swapping for d-shot seems too slow, because it adds alot of time to the 1/2 cast of d-shot, unlikely id be able to hit anything reliably.

Good point.
It's true that Warriors have nothing in the sense of energy management. But try abusing Leadership on an 8-skill bar that needs most of its slots to make an imba pet.

1) My pet always gets pwnt in HM - any ideas how to prevent this ? I love to use him, but not sure how to do so effectively for vanquishing.
2) I'm in Aussie so I have a slow response speed making interrupts pretty much a matter of guesswork and luck.
3) I actually think needling shot is fun in PvE (don't shoot me down for saying that, sometimes I just like a change from the regular Barrage or BHA builds)
Can anyone post a decent 8 skill bar that I can use for vq with the above in mind. I generally run Sabway heroes, but often switch out the SS for an interrupt mesmer.
Thanks.

Im an aussie too, so I get the bad ping as well... usually however I can reliably interupt 1 second casts from range, and .75's from point blank. Depends on the ping at the time however. As for a build, if ur with sabway let the MM take aggro rather then ur pet. Pets are good, but if they are getting hit hard and often then they are just disabling ur skills too much.
Try the build I posted earlier for vanquing. I used it successfully in many areas in Elona and Cantha.
[Build=OgkjYpXYJT8gleCZDZ2k4G0GbGA]
Runes: Headgear of beastmastery
Minor Beastmastery
Minor Expertise.
